Suitable for: Protection and care of terraces and other garden wood products such as path borders, fences, privacy screens and facade cladding made of Douglas fir, larch, hardwood and exotic wood. Douglas fir terrace oil creates a highly water-repellent, weather- and UV-resistant surface that lasts a very long time and offers good long-term protection against greying. Application/processing: - The untreated wooden surface must be clean, dust- and grease-free and dry. - Processing temperature (including drying) from + 8 °C. Wood moisture not more than 18 %. Air humidity < 60 %. - Final hardness is only reached after 10 days. Handle gently during this time. Drying time at least 8 - 12 hours (weather dependent) and avoid exposure to moisture during this time. Drying occurs through oxygen absorption (oxidation) with a product-typical smell, so ensure sufficient, temperate air exchange during the drying time. - For soft woods (risk of fungal growth) outdoors, pre-treat with a suitable impregnating primer before the first coat. - Woods that are very rich in oil and ingredients (IPE, Doussie, etc.) should be neutralized with a suitable cleaner before painting. - Douglas fir terrace oil should always be painted over with the same product for subsequent rework. - Stir the contents well before and during use. - Works differently on different surfaces. Test coats required. - Please pay attention to structural wood protection. - Apply the first coat to all sides before assembly if possible. - Apply oil thinly and evenly - Avoid the formation of layers and remove excess oil. Consumption: approx. 125 ml/m², i.e. 1 liter of Douglas fir terrace oil is enough for approx. 8 m² per application, depending on the type of wood and surface (planed or rough sawn). Consumption can increase with grooved wood (factor 2 - 3). Lower consumption affects the durability of the paint.
