The G² Decking Oil Ipe / Teak is suitable for the care of domestic and exotic woods in outdoor areas. It can be used, for example, for wooden terraces, wooden decks, and garden furniture.

The pigmented formulation in the Ipe / Teak color tone supports the protection of the wood against UV-related color changes. The decking oil is suitable both for the initial treatment of untreated wood surfaces and for subsequent maintenance of suitable, load-bearing surfaces.

Application

  • The surface must be clean, dust-free, and dry.
  • Allow woods with a high content of wood extractives to weather for approx. 4 weeks before initial treatment.
  • Allow fresh pressure-treated wood as well as Massaranduba, Ipe, or Garapa to weather for approx. 3 months before initial treatment.
  • Processing temperature, including drying: above +8 °C.
  • Wood moisture content maximum 18 %, air humidity below 60 %.
  • Perform a test coat before use and stir the oil well.
  • Apply the oil thinly and evenly, avoid layer formation, and remove excess oil.
  • On untreated wood, two to three coats are intended, with approx. 12 hours of intermediate drying time each.

Consumption and coverage

The consumption is approx. 50 ml/m² per coat. One liter is sufficient for about 20 m² per coat, depending on the wood type and surface structure. Consumption may increase for grooved wood.

How often should I maintain my wooden deck or furniture?

The frequency of maintenance depends on usage and weather conditions. As a rule, we recommend cleaning and re-oiling wooden decks and furniture at least once a year to keep them in top condition.

What do I do if there are stubborn stains or discolorations on the wood?

For stubborn stains or discoloration, we offer special cleaning and care products, such as tannin stain removers and intensive cleaners. These products are specially formulated to remove even the most difficult stains.

Can I use your products on other materials?

Our products are specially formulated for wooden surfaces. For other materials, we recommend reading the product description carefully or contacting our customer service.

How long does it take for the products to dry?

Drying time varies depending on the product and ambient temperature. As a rule, wood oils and waxes require several hours to a full day to dry completely. For more detailed information, please refer to the respective product instructions.
